WHAT PET OWNERS ARE SAYING ABOUT TENDER TOUCH?

Deirdre Chitwood provided Tender Touch to my six year old Labrador named Blackjack for over a year. Tender Touch really helped Blackjack during a very challenging time in his life. In May 2009, Blackjack tore his knee ligament as he was playing fetch by the pool. Three veterinarians recommended that Blackjack have knee surgery. A month later, Blackjack stepped on a toy that was on the floor in my family room and tore the ligament in his other knee. I took Blackjack to an orthopedic surgeon who recommended that Blackjack have TPLO surgery on both of his knees. I found Deirdre’s card at my hair salon and decided to call and meet her before I made any decisions about surgery. During the months that she worked with Blackjack, she was incredibly helpful to me as I decided how to best support Blackjack and his recovery. TTouch seemed to calm Blackjack down, relieve his body of tension and accelerate the healing process. Deirdre developed a deep bond with Blackjack, was attuned to him and his body’s needs. She showed me how to do the TTouches so I could work with Blackjack in between sessions and gave me great suggestions on what I could do to help him be most comfortable. She helped me decode some of Blackjack’s behaviors so I could understand him better and guided me as I began to navigate through the world of conventional and holistic care for animals. I decided not to have the recommended surgery as I desperately wanted a gentler way to help Blackjack. In addition to having weekly session with Deirdre, I began working with a homeopathic vet, changed Blackjack’s diet to a raw food and made changes in our lifestyle that would help Blackjack. I am overjoyed to report that as I write this, 18 months since Blackjack’s initial injury, he shows NO signs of injury. He has been walking, running, out on the boat, swimming and is pain and limp free. It is truly a miracle and Deirdre played a crucial part in his recovery. I highly recommend her to anyone that could use a wise, experienced voice and gentle healing touch to help them with their pets.
